Museum floor plan
Upon arrival you will be offerd a brochure with information and a floor plan of the museum. It lists the various museum sections and how to find them. A short film is shown in the introduction room. Within five minutes you will know exactly what to expect in our museum. Use the floor plan to choose the sections that have aroused your interest. Queries may als be addressed to the reception.

Our museum is a museum of stories. The objects tell you the stories of the history of Frisian shipping and of the city of Sneek. Sometimes the stories are a little longer and more exciting, and they will not fit on a small caption. The audio tour really brings the objects to life. We use a new system with sensors, so that you no longer have to key in a number when you see an object. The order does not matter anymore either. For foreign guests we provide audio tours in English and German. Because the stories are so important, we provide the audio tours free of charge. While supplies last, of course.
