Skûtsjesilen in the heart of Friesland
Friesland and sailing belong together. For Frisian people the ultimate kind of sailing is skûtsjesilen. Annage Skûtsjesilen specialises in organising day trips on these amazing yachts. Together with the Frisian Maritime Museum Annage can offer you a wonderful day.

You will be welcomed in the Frisian yachting village of Grou. During the skippers’ meeting, after coffee with Frisian oranjekoek your skipper will tell you about the ins and outs of the skûtsje, her history, and the programme of the day. When all are on board, the sails will be hoisted and you will be heading for the Sneekermeer. After lunch on board, the skûtsje will be moored in this country’s number one yachting town: Sneek. And after a short walk around the city you will arrive at the Frisian Maritime Museum. After a cup of coffee/tea you will be taken back in time into Friesland’s maritime history. The museum documents the history of Frisian shipping from the 17th up to the 20th century in a unique manner. Afterwards the skûtsje will take you back to Grou. You may opt to end your day with a dinner or a barbecue on the waterfront in one of Grou’s pleasant restaurants.
